Working to preserve and create American art, music, and culture.

Archivist, eduator, artist. Jen Larson has a passion for primary source information, American vernacular and popular cultures, rhinestone studded and embroidered stage wear, bluegrass, and visual art that is richly layered.

Her archival work focuses on the human elements of history, preserved through curation, conservation, and care. As an artist, Jen combines nostalgia with disparate juxtapositions that reach across time and collide, creating meaning out of the mundane.

Turning artifacts and ephemera into comprehensive collections, no matter the size or budget.

Combining time and place to connect the unconnected.

ART

Performing, examining, and teaching one of America’s enduring musical traditions -- Bluegrass.

Whether she is documenting the rich intersection of culture and art as an archivist, teaching songs and singing around the country, or composing and performing a new classic number in the American songbag, Jen Larson is a crossroads of talents. North, south, east, or west, her passion for what came before is equally matched by her skill at showing us what is yet to come

If you'd like to work with Jen, she is available for archive planning and consulting, teaching and speaking engagements on the topics of bluegrass and country music, and she also welcomes musical collaborations and commissions for art projects.
